The Advanced Technology Lab (@lab) is dedicated to simplifying access to complex technologies.

We design solutions to control the technologies that surround you, we contribute to the development and maintenance of the core services on which we depend, and we explore the next-generation platforms that will enable new forms of collaboration.

We are a loosely knit group of experts at UAB. Most of our energy is focused on building UABgrid, a platform for research computing at UAB. We are heavily engaged in the development of SURAgrid, a community of experts working to deploy an integrated infrastructure across sites. We have been exploring and extending these technologies since 2003 (historical site).
