Adjusted the structure a little.  I'd like to provide a context for the reader so they can understand the big picture and their destination just from the outline.  [[User:Jpr@uab.edu|Jpr@uab.edu]] 10:56, 20 April 2011 (CDT)

== Deprecate "Simplified" method ==
I don't know if this is really about deprecating the simplified method.  But moving it a lower position.  I think most folks want and can now use a designated install.  The simplified method was designed to help people how couldn't install matlab but on UAB equipment nor get a designated license a way to get started with an existing network server.  All users can now do a designated install and we should highlight that.  The simplfied install is still useful for departmental admins who don't want to manage a license server or others who want this type of setup, but it might be better be called "Simplified Network Install" and highlight that it's just an option where you use our provided license server.

Adjusted the structure a little. I'd like to provide a context for the reader so they can understand the big picture and their destination just from the outline. Jpr@uab.edu 10:56, 20 April 2011 (CDT)

Deprecate "Simplified" method

I don't know if this is really about deprecating the simplified method. But moving it a lower position. I think most folks want and can now use a designated install. The simplified method was designed to help people how couldn't install matlab but on UAB equipment nor get a designated license a way to get started with an existing network server. All users can now do a designated install and we should highlight that. The simplfied install is still useful for departmental admins who don't want to manage a license server or others who want this type of setup, but it might be better be called "Simplified Network Install" and highlight that it's just an option where you use our provided license server.
